Newcastle's famous Assembly Rooms had another reason to
break out the bubbly come the first of January, as it celebrated its most
successful Christmas season to date with more bookings and positive feedback
than ever before. This success is
in large part thanks to a comprehensive marketing and PR strategy executed by
full service advertising agency, Silver Bullet Marketing.
The Assembly Rooms, which
has been a client of Silver Bullet for almost a decade, stepped up its
marketing activity in 2009 with the introduction of social media and guerrilla marketing. This was combined with the traditional
forms of marketing already active, which included regional PR, advertising and
the production and distribution of the Christmas brochure.
Silver Bullet's Account Manager,
Jennifer Tate, commented, "The Christmas success was a culmination of a year of
hard work from both companies. We knew 2009 was going to be a tough year and
used a number of social and guerrilla marketing techniques throughout the year,
including hiring stilt walking reindeers to promote the venue's Christmas
offers."
"Our brief from Antony Michaelides is fairly simple - to raise awareness of the Assembly Rooms as one of Newcastle's premier Banqueting and Conference venues, and having worked with them for a decade now, we have developed a good understanding of their market and aspirations which is based on a great personal relationship. It really is a remarkable institution and is as much a part of Newcastle as the Tyne Bridge. A private, family owned business is rarity these days and is a testament to the hard work that has been invested by Antony and his team. It's a pleasure to have worked with them for so long and we look forward to continue to doing so."
"What worked last year, however,
won't necessarily work this year so we know never to rest on our laurels and have
a few new tricks up our sleeves for 2010, which include an entirely new
advertising campaign."
Owner of the Assembly Rooms, Antony Michaelides, said, "We are overwhelmed at the success throughout December, especially after what has been a difficult year for everyone. The marketing strategy employed by Silver Bullet has helped ensure Assembly Rooms has remained in the public eye, and that visitor numbers have continued to rise."
