The brief was to re-launch the Assembly Rooms as a vibrant conference and social function venue following the sale of the gaming licence and the refurbishment of the building in 2000. William Newton's Georgian masterpiece, built in 1776 and set in the heart of Newcastle, now had to compete for business and social functions from an increasing number of rival venues.

The colour mix:

A mix of traditional PR and advertising with eye-catching designs ensured the Assembly Rooms' offer was regularly seen in the right regional media, whilst e-marketing spread the word further afield. Customer Profiling and CRM techniques have helped ensure a stead flow of repeat business.

The impact:

In an ever-increasingly competitive market, the Assembly Rooms' superb service standards, coupled with the agency's marketing, has seen market share steadily increase for not only the traditional social and Christmas events but also for regional, national and international business functions.
