Case Study:
JDDK Architects

Silver Bullet had a tough job, designing for a firm of designers, many of whom had spent most or all of their professional careers working under our existing brand, but they rose to the challenge brilliantly creating a new brand that is fresh, modern and reflects our personality as an organisation as well as appealing to our client base and being respectful to our practice heritage - they nailed it!

Nicky Watson, Director JDDK Architects

Loading The Barrel:

Established by Jane Darbyshire and David Kendall in 1987, the award-winning practice enjoyed a growing reputation for not only its core housing and hospice projects, but also for a wide range of commercial, leisure, educational and heritage work. In 2015 they felt the old brand no longer reflected their workload and commissioned market research from their clients and own staff to understand how the practice was perceived.

The Colour Mix:

Nicky Watson, commented: "We have worked with Silver Bullet since 2003 so we know each other well, however embarking on a re-branding exercise took us into a whole new world of marketing where we needed expert professional advice of the highest order.  John and Gemma gave us just that and more."

"Under their guidance we started with some in-depth market research the results of which were incredibly useful in us developing a design brief - we wanted our new brand to not only represent who we are, what we do, and how we do it, but also to respond to what we discovered our clients valued in us and our service. "

The results of the market research provided an evidence-based brief to rebrand the practice with a number of internal consultations and presentations until the new brand was agreed and launched in September 2016. The work included a new fully responsive, CMS website, corporate stationery, presentation material, and strategic advertising.

The Impact:

Universally approved by both their own staff and their clients, the new branding and website has significantly raised the practice’s profile nationally. A new enquiry actually came in from a private client impressed by their online portfolio within hours of the site going live. JDDK continue to create stunning and award-winning buildings for their clients with a brand that represents what both their staff and clients value in them.
