Loading the Barrel:
Teesside University’s 36,000 sq. ft. Innovation Centre on Stockton’s Northshore was designed to become a magnet for digital enterprise and a technology business hub but required a new name and a brand that reflected the building’s purpose before marketing to potential tenants could begin. Silver Bullet were appointed in 2014 after a competitive design tender.
The Colour Mix:
The Fusion Hive brand reflects the collaboration between tenants themselves and tenants and the University that the building promotes – a busy community of independent businesses who can work together to create extraordinary synergy. Once agreed, the brand was transferred to an eye-catching responsive web site with full content management and integral SEO, backed up by a proactive PR campaign that ensured a high profile for the project in the local business media.
Web site traffic and press coverage exceeded Teesside University’s most optimistic targets so much so that the three storey facility was 30% booked before the official opening on 2nd October. Diverse tenants ranging from Vision for Education, one of the largest education employers in the UK, to Bolt Forecast, a weather forecasting enterprise, have continued to rent the mix of flexible work spaces that form the building and the University confidently expect 100% occupancy within months of opening.
